Expressions to impress!

If you have come this far, you might want to know who I am.

My name is Edy Skreinig.

I am a mother, English teacher and painter. In that order.

My story is like any other story that take hours to tell. To some interesting, to others not as much. A narration that at the end will lead us to this point in the present time where we are. And here is where we meet: What a nice event!

I love to travel, I have been to many places and have been interested in many things but painting has taken up a large part of my life and it is one of the things I like the most in my life.

To be exact, I have been involved with painting for pretty much as long as I have worked as a language teacher and translator. (More about that at www.puralingua.at

I invest most of my time with my family and work and for those two I am always active and energetic.

I love teaching what I know to others and when I teach I explain a lot and I do it with heart and soul.

And so it is with my paintings - when I choose the time for the brush and the canvas - I am all there!

I am calm, I am silent and my hands do the talking.

My paintings capture my personal observations, both from memory and through invention.

Like me, sometimes they can speak out loud and are assertive, lively and sociable. And sometimes they are quiet, discreet and introspective. For me they are simplicity, truth, dreams, possibilities and wishes.

My goal is to create a safe haven through my paintings.

My wish is that my paintings are able to function as "windows" that can be opened to unique places to be visited by those who admire them.

Places where you can simply go for a "walk" and get completely - and purposefully lost and still feel fully safe...

Or, where you can go unintentionally and stay away for a while. Without haste or worry.

May you find answers to your innermost questions in this "walk" and whether it will lead you to inner peace or just a pleasant adventure, I hope you enjoy the scenery!

Love,

Edy
